Beijing Day 2

After a full day yesterday, we woke up to another one today.  While we are anxious to travel to Urumqi to adopt Josiah, we have appreciated the extra time o tour Beijing, learn more about the country of China, and build relationships with the other Bethany families. Today we toured Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Hutong City.  We were absolutely amazed at the history and size of these sites.  Tiananmen Square is the largest city square in the world and has much cultural and political relevance in the country of China.  We toured the Forbidden City which was the Emperor's palace for several hundred years.  It is the largest royal palace in the history of the world. If you've ever seen the movie, "The Last Emperor" it was filmed on site at the actual palace.  Incredible structure.  Hutong City is the oldest part of Beijing.  We were able to tour an actual family house and courtyard which was over 300 years old. There is too much to write, so I will just post some more photos.
